Class placements are dependent on training and experience. All prekinder classes include barre and center floor technique incorporated with fun fine/gross motor coordinating activities.
Jazz classes require some form of moderate intensity stretching in order to warm up the muscles and help prevent injuries. Some techniques used in the warm up consist of elongating leg muscles and strengthening the core. There are some variations that can fall into a jazz class. Although jazz dance can be performed in its traditional form, it is often influenced by other dance styles such as acrobatics, ballet, contemporary, lyrical, and hip hop. In turn, many other dance styles are influenced by jazz dance.

Pointe is a form of ballet presented on the tips of the toes. It is offered primarily to girls who have taken two to three years of ballet technique. The youngest age we accept students in pointe is 12 years old. The bones in the feet are still developing and could be irreversibly damaged if caution is not taken. Pointe dancers should be aware of injuries that can occur. It is not uncommon for beginner dancers to experience calluses and/or bruising of the toes and feet.
Tumbling is floor gymnastics. All exercises are done on the mat and there is no use of apparatus.
Hip Hop refers to mainly street dance styles and is danced to hip hop music. It includes a wide range of styles from breaking, popping and house dance. Our school does not cater to a west coast/east coast trend. Rather you will see a little bit of both and the fad styles incorporated in a class.
